Hello, my name is Valerie Prim. I love teaching children. I am a native Floridian, born and raised in Palm Beach County Florida. I came to North Carolina in 1978 to attend Mars Hill College as a Varsity athlete (scholarship recipient) in Volleyball and Softball and never moved back. I have a B.S. degree in teaching (Health&Physical Education K-12) from Mars Hill Univ., a Master Degree (Health& Physical Education) from Gardner Webb Univ. Before coming to Yadkin County, I taught in Iredell-Statesville, Gaston County and Cleveland County. Elementary Physical Education is the area I have a passion for working in, because one can have such an impact with lifetime fitness and healthy habits. I am married to a native of Yadkin County, Dr. Clinton "Oz" Prim (History Professor) and have two wonderful daughters, Joy and Julianna Prim. Both of my daughters attended Yadkinville Elem. School, just like their daddy. Joy graduated from Forbush High School (2005) and attended Pfeiffer University, and Julianna chose to attend Starmount High School (2009) and attended NCSU (GO PACK!). Both daughters were NCAA scholarship swimmers in college. Julianna also played 1 year of Varsity Womens Basketball for NCSU, while working on her graduate degree. She has completed her Doctorate degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, and now is Dr. Julianna Prim. We are an active family with a long history in swimming and involvement in the YMCA. Ask us about it one day.
